Food Journaling
It could be a type record, using the FNC Food Journal Template, which also prompts specific weekly reflection questions.
Or it could be a handwritten journal.
Here are a couple of examples of basic food records, with minimal reflections.
They can still be useful to build mindfulness, pin point times in the day when appetite is high and record which meals are really satisfying. They can also show you how much (or little) you are actually eating and committing to writing down each bite, each snack, each drink - can certainly bring a new level of awareness to your nutrition.
Below we have a couple of pages of journaling which includes portion sizes, the purpose of the meals and snacks, feelings of satiety (fullness) and appetite, comments about mindfulness and speed of eating.
This level of journaling can help enormously when it comes to linking the mind to our food intake.
Journaling can be handwritten like this, it could be a note in your phone or you could use the FNC Food Journal template, which is a Google spreadsheet.
